Children’s Classes on Sunday; Sila Program and Meditation on Saturday
With excellent weather greeting us this weekend, we are looking forward to the Vihara programs on Sunday (Jan. 7) and Saturday (Jan. 6).
Children’s Classes on Sunday
This is the first day of children’s classes in 2018. Puja begins at 8:30 a.m. and classes begin at 9:00.
It is very important for parents to bring their children to the Puja at 8:30.
Two Dhamma Programs on Saturday
1. Sila program—Begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. with breaks.
Lunch will be provided by Vihara members. The program will be conducted in English, but you can ask questions in Sinhala as well.
Ven. Upananda Nayaka Thero who conducts the programs says that it includes:
Guided and silent meditation with three Iriyapathas (postures): sitting, standing, and walking
and
Question and answer sessions.
2. Weekly meditation program—Begins at 7:00 p.m. and ends at 8:30 p.m.
It includes 45 minutes of guided meditation practice and 45 minutes of discussion
