Vihara Programs This Saturday (April 28th)

In commemoration of the Vesak Poya Day 2018, the Vihara offers a Sila program and a Dhamma talk on Saturday, April 28th, in addition to the regular Theravada Buddhism class.

Sila program: (from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm)

This program, conducted by Ven. Dedunupitiye Upananda Nayka Thero both in Sinhala and English, includes walking and sitting meditation sessions and discussions. Lunch and refreshments will be provided by the Vihara members.

Dhamma Deshana: (from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm)

It is given in Sinhala by Ven. Karamidule Sirirathana Thero. A separate English program will be conducted for children.This Dhamma Deshana is sponsored by Mahesh and Nalika Jayawardena family in memory of Mr. Jayawardena’s mother who passed away on April 27th, 2006. They will also offer your dinner at 7:15 pm. The Vihara appreciates their generous sponsorship of this program.

Theravada Buddhism Course (from 3:30 to 5:30 pm)

This is the 15th and the last day of the course. It is conducted in English by Ven. Upananda Nayaka Thero, a specialist in the Pali language and Buddhist education. The lesson is: Bodhisattva Ideal in Theravada Buddhism.

(Please note that our Vesak ceremony will be on May 19th and 20th. Regular Saturday Meditation session will not be held on April 28th. Regular children’s classes will not be held this Sunday (April 29th), either. The next children’s class day is May 6th.)
